VOTE YES ON CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT A
ADD A 4TH TIER FOR REAL PROPERTY TAXATION
BACKGROUND
The Wyoming Constitution currently provides for three property classes: 1. Minerals 2. Industrial and 3. All other which includes commercial, residential, agricultural and personal property. It further requires that all properties in each class be assessed uniformly.
Therefore, residential property cannot be taxed differently than commercial property. The best analogy is, Gramma can’t be given a tax break on her home unless WalMart gets the same break.
(And property tax is the only tax that WalMart pays in Wyoming)
This constitutional amendment is the first step to give our Wyoming residents a break on increasingly skyrocketing property taxes.
OFFICIAL BALLOT LANGUAGE
The adoption of this amendment would separate residential real property into its own class of property for purposes of property tax assessments. The amendment would authorize the legislature to create a subclass of owner occupied primary residences.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
First and foremost, VOTE yes on Constitutional Amendment A.
Second and very important, spread the word, tell your neighbors, your family and friends.
And finally, consider contributing to our PAC so we can buy yard signs, advertise and educate our Wyoming voters on the importance of this Amendment and it’s passage!
